Short films
By now, EMERGEANDSEE can look back on a tradition of 11 years of creative exchange between new-coming artists. It all started as a short film festival; hence, the short film competition is still the centre of attention. It offers a platform on which creativity, innovational ideas and a clever realization count more than budget or technical equipment. Therefore, EMERGEANDSEE especially aims at young, aspiring filmmakers around the globe, who are excited to present their visions and views to the audience and jury.
En Détail
Our view wants to be adjusted and sharpened! With this year’s topic “En Détail” we want to come near and have a close look in order to see the hidden and place it in front of the obvious.
What happens if the attention shifts to the obviously marginal? How does the searching for evidence and answers relate to the bigger picture? Do we lose track of orientation or does it enable us to see the whole idea in a better way?
And: Which perspectives do we adopt in order to grasp the detail visually? Are zoom, close-up or slow motion the only possibilities? Through which means can our perception be led? Which picture forms if we deconstruct structures and combine parts newly together?
Where exactly is the detail? How can we make it visible? Search and find, let your sight disperse, extract, focus and see clearly again!
Note
- There are no genre limitations regarding form or content. Animate, take pictures, experimental, classical – all is welcome!
- Max. length of works: 20 min.
- Formats: only recent formats are accepted (e.g. avi, .mov, .mp4 in xvid, DivX, H.264, Theora-Codec), that are compatible with a VLC media player
All films can be submitted here until the 15th of March 2011.

EMERGEANDSEE kann mittlerweile auf eine 11-jährige Tradition des kreativen Austausches zwischen Nachwuchskünstlern zurückblicken. Als ein Kurzfilmfestival hat es begonnen und so steht der Wettbewerb um Kurzfilmbeiträge nach wie vor im Zentrum des Festivals. Er bietet eine Plattform, bei der Kreativität, innovative Ideen und eine clevere Umsetzung mehr wert sind als das Budget oder die technische Ausstattung. Somit richtet sich EMERGEANDSEE besonders an junge Filmschaffende weltweit, die Lust haben, ihre Visionen und Standpunkte dem Publikum und der Jury zu präsentieren.
En Détail
Unser Blick will justiert und geschärft werden! Mit dem diesjährigen Thema „En Détail“ möchten wir ganz nah heran und genau hinschauen, um das Verborgene vor das Offensichtliche zu stellen.
Was passiert wenn die Aufmerksamkeit sich auf das scheinbar Nebensächliche richtet? In welchem Zusammenhang steht das nach Indizien und Antworten Suchende mit dem großen Ganzen? Verlieren wir die Orientierung oder verleiht es uns die Fähigkeit, das Gesamtbild besser zu verstehen?
Und: Welche Perspektive nehmen wir ein, um das Detail visuell zu erfassen? Sind Zoom, Nahaufnahme oder Zeitlupe die einzigen Möglichkeiten? Wodurch kann sich unsere Wahrnehmung leiten lassen? Welches Bild entsteht, wenn wir Strukturen dekonstruieren und Einheiten anders neu zusammensetzen?
Wo genau steckt das Detail? Wie können wir es sichtbar machen? Sucht und findet, lasst euren Blick zerstreuen, extrahiert, fokussiert und seht wieder klar!
Hinweise
- Es gibt weder formale noch inhaltliche Genregrenzen. Animiert, fotografiert, experimentell, klassisch – alles ist willkommen.
- Maximale Länge der Beiträge: 20 Minuten.
- Formate: Zur Einreichung akzeptieren wir alle halbwegs aktuellen Formate (z.B. .avi, .mov, .mp4 in xvid, DivX, H.264, Theora-Codec), die sich mit dem VLC media player abspielen lassen.
Die Beiträge können bis zum 15.03.2011 hier eingereicht werden.
